“Encryption Controls”

This full day program is an in-depth session that will focus on the unique provisions related to encryption under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) export policy specialists will cover a variety of topics, including:

 

•           Determining if your items are controlled in Category 5, Part 2 of the EAR

•           Mass market and license exception ENC

•           Commodity classification requests and reporting requirements

•           Applying for an encryption license

•           The latest updates to the encryption provisions in the EAR

 

Presenters will be available throughout the day to address specific questions of attendees.

Continuing legal education credit (MCLE) is available, and varies with the length of each seminar, for California State Bar members.

About the Instructors

The instructors are experienced BIS export policy specialists from BIS’ Information Technology Division and Office of Exporter Services.

Location/time

The program will be held at the Crowne Plaza San Jose-Silicon Valley, 777 Bellew Drive, Milpitas, CA 95035. Registration and continental breakfast begins at 7:30am. The program begins at 8:30am and ends at 4:30pm.
