SOUTH KOREA EXPORT CONTROL INFORMATION

South Korea is a member of the Wassenaar Arrangement, the Australia Group, the Missile Technology Control Regime and participates in the Nuclear Suppliers Group. The South Korean licensing authority for dual use items is the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).

Laws relevant to South Korea’s export control system include: the Foreign Trade Act, the Defense Acquisition Program Act, the Nuclear Safety Act, and the Act on the Control of the Manufacture, Export, and Import of Specific Chemicals and Chemical Agents for the Prohibition of Chemical and Biological Weapons (Prohibition of Chemical and Biological Weapons Act).
