“Technology Controls”

Thursday, September 15, 2016

This one-day seminar will cover the distinctive provisions of the Export Administration Regulations that relate to the export of technology.  Regulatory experts will cover general technology controls and licensing considerations.  The seminar will address the specific provisions related to deemed exports and associated technology control plans, as well as the considerations pertaining to fundamental research.
The seminar will also discuss the provisions of the recently published “Definitions Rule” that will take effect on September 1, 2016.  This rule is intended to enhance clarity and consistency with terms also found in the ITAR as well as to update and clarify export controls on electronically transmitted and stored technology and software, including by way of cloud computing.
