The annual Update Conference on Export Controls and Policy gives the exporting community the opportunity to learn first-hand from senior U.S. Government officials about current issues and trends in export control policies, regulations and practices.  This major outreach activity draws business and government representatives from around the world to learn and exchange ideas about export control issues.  It provides attendees with the opportunity to network with colleagues in the export control industry, interact with U.S. Government officials, and learn about programs and services offered by U.S. Government and industry exhibitors.  It is one of the Department of Commerce’s most notable international trade events.  

Exhibit opportunities are available.  The exhibit hall will be open during the entire conference:  on Monday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 1 from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, November 2 from 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  
Update will be held at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C.  Confirmation receipts will be sent after the registration process has been completed.

Registration Information for Exhibitors


Registration Fee:

The registration fee for Update 2016 Exhibit Hall is $3,225.00 and includes one full conference registration, and an additional two passes for the Networking Reception on Monday, October 31, breakfasts, breaks and the Exhibitor Networking Reception on Tuesday, November 1. In total, each booth may register up to five people.

Payment Method

Online registration is required regardless of payment method. You may pay by credit card (M/C, VISA, and American Express) or by check. Checks should be made out to the BIS Seminar Trust Fund 96B1671. All checks must be received by BIS on or before Friday, October 21, 2016. Checks must be sent by courier to: U.S. Dept. of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, 14th Street & Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Room 1099D, Washington, D.C. 20230. Attn: Angela Robinson

Refund/Cancellation Policy

A refund, less a $50 administrative charge, is available for cancellations made on or before Monday, October 17, 2015. No refunds are available after this date.

Transferring Your Registration Authorization

If you would like to allow someone else from your organization to register in your place, you must receive prior approval from BIS. Please put "Registration Code Transfer Request" in the subject line along with the new contact information, including email address. BIS will then send an email confirmation to both you and the new registrant with registration instructions. Registrations may NOT be transferred outside of your organization. Registrations may NOT be resold.

Hotel Information:

 

A conference rate of $231.00 (single occupancy, plus tax) is available at the Washington Hilton Hotel beginning the night of October 29, 2016.  For the nights of November 1-3, a conference rate of $182.00 (single occupancy, plus tax) is available. Government attendees, please be sure to inquire about the government rate.  Please reserve hotel accommodations early as these rates will be available only until October 7, 2016.

Exhibit opportunities are available. The exhibit hall will be open during the entire conference: on Tuesday, October 3 and Wednesday, October 4 from 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and on Thursday, October 5 from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
