The Export Control Forum is a one-and-a-half day program dedicated to bringing the business community up-to-speed on the latest initiatives underway in the export control field, including the latest developments in the Export Control Reform initiative.
Day one will feature key policy management, technical, legal, and enforcement personnel from the Bureau of Industry and Security and other relevant agencies to provide detailed information on recent changes and those contemplated. Day one will conclude with a gala reception, offering you the opportunity to mingle and discuss issues of concern with the presenters and other participants. On day two, you will have the opportunity to participate in one of two concurrently running, half-day breakout sessions dedicated to a more detailed discussion on topics of interest.
For those of you who have requested an Update-like offering on the west coast, this is it! The streamlined day-and-a-half format is intended to provide a lot of value in a package that fits into your busy schedule.

These regulations have significant implications, not only for companies that hire foreign nationals, but also universities and laboratories that host visiting students and scientists. The panel will address issues such as: the proper procedure to fill out an application for export license where the product is technology; the correct way to complete the export control question on the DHS I-129 non-immigrant visa form; the impact of technology controls on R&D programs and how federal R&D facilities comply with the regulations when they are working with contractors; how universities and research institutions can create a compliance tool that addresses these regulations; what technologies are being sought and what countries are deemed licenses being approved. |
The Export Control Forum will be held February 27-28, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, located at 17900 Jamboree Road, Irvine, California, 92614. Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 7:30 AM on day one. The Forum sessions will run from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The day will conclude with a reception from 5:15 PM to 7:15 PM. Day two will commence with a continental breakfast at 7:30 AM. The breakout sessions will run from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The event concludes at noon.
