In his new position, Pederson will oversee OEE's investigative activity for southern California as well as Hawaii, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and southern Nevada. His office is responsible for investigating and preventing the unlawful exports of U.S.-origin commodities and technical data that are controlled in order to protect national security, foreign policy, and nonproliferation interests of the United States.

Note:

In April of 2002 the Bureau of Export Administration (BXA) changed its name to the Bureau of Industry and Security(BIS). For historical purposes we have not changed the references to BXA in the legacy documents found in the Archived Press and Public Information.
