Lisa Prager is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement in the Bureau of Industry and Security. Ms. Prager serves as the highest ranking career employee in Export Enforcement. The Deputy Assistant Secretary oversees the administration of Export Enforcement's mission to detect, halt, investigate and help sanction violations of U.S. dual-use export control laws as well as administer the antiboycott provisions of the Export Administration Act.
Ms. Prager joins BIS after a distinguished career at the Justice Department. Most recently, Ms. Prager served in the Transnational/Major Crimes Section where she was responsible for overseeing the investigation, indictment and trial of export, terrorism and espionage cases. Also at the Justice Department, Ms. Prager served in the Tax Division where she was responsible for appellate litigation.
Ms. Prager graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1978 and from the Western New England College School of Law with a Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 1982.
