The Bureau of Industry and Security

Presents the 2nd Annual

Export Control Forum

March 19, 2007
Newport Beach, California

This one-day event will feature key management, policy, and licensing specialists from the Bureau of Industry and Security who will provide updates on key developments in the export control field. The event will conclude with a gala reception, offering you the opportunity to mingle and discuss issues of concern with the presenters and other participants.

The extended one-day format is intended to provide an Update-like offering on the west coast. The schedule is compressed to offer a lot of information in a package that fits into your busy schedule. Last year’s event was well attended. We encourage you to register early as space is limited.

Agenda

Assistant Secretary for Export Administration Christopher Padilla will give the luncheon keynote presentation on “Current and Future Trends in Export Controls.” Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement Darryl Jackson will give the Enforcement keynote presentation later in the day.

Our panels will feature speakers from BIS along with speakers from the Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Bureau of the Census. The conference will include discussions on the following:

• Current BIS and Census regulatory initiatives and a discussion of the Commodity Jurisdiction process

• Foreign policy controls, featuring subject matter experts from both BIS and OFAC

• Technology licensing issues, including encryption and deemed export rules

• Enforcement activities and what they should signal to you and your company

The day will conclude with a reception where you will have the opportunity to interact with the speakers and other attendees in a more relaxed, social setting.

Space is limited for this event. REGISTER ONLINE
