LOIS: License Processing is a companion course to NCL-301. In LP-301 participants complete seven self-paced modules that teach how to process a license, beginning with correctly assessing the classification of an item to determine the appropriateness of the end-use and the end-user.
While not required, it is useful to complete NCL-201 prior to this course.
There are a number of learning objectives associated with each of the seven modules. Sample objectives are listed below for each of the seven modules:
9: Know the basic steps involved in processing a license
10: Determine if an item is appropriate given the stated end-use and end-user
11: Understand how a table of denials is generated and how to use such a list, make decisions based upon "projects of concern"
12: Know one's responsibilities should a case go to an interagency dispute resolution committee, understand the logic of the escalation process
